This passage shows that there is no better place to look for true inspiration than god’s word. If this doesn’t give us confidence, especially in the midst of trials, then nothing will.

Philippians 3:
“12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, ”

By ourselves we were defeated. In Christ we have won and can pursue the joy He offers with nothing that can stand in our way.

Job, even though a righteous man, faced unspeakable suffering. When in his darkest time he cried out to God, asking for an answer as to why he was given such trials. It wasn’t until Job stopped demanding an answer and humbled himself in the sight of the Lord’s rebuke that he understood God’s plan. At this point in time God raised Job up and blessed him well beyond the first part of his life.

Job 38:35 “Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?” WOW

Paul desired greatly to visit the church in Rome, the Lord had other plans for him and when he finally got to Rome it was as a prisoner to death. Paul always understood that God was guiding his path. And because of his faithfulness, obedience and love for his risen savior the gospel was proclaimed/spread throughout the gentile nations.
